# Importing Templates to the Neon Blue App

### Overview

Once your email template is Neon Blue-ready in your ESP (see [Connecting Email Templates to Neon Blue](https://docs.neonblue.ai/~/revisions/YMLWSc774XgJY4LSMjjr/email-integration/connecting-email-templates-to-neon-blue)), you need to import it into the Neon Blue platform so it can be used in Draft Experiments and Experiments.

### New Templates

#### 1. Sync Source Templates

In the Neon Blue portal, navigate to **Source Templates** and sync. This pulls your ESP's templates into Neon Blue. Your newly created template will appear in the list.

> **Note:** Neon Blue can only import HTML templates. If you built your template using a visual/drag-and-drop editor, export the raw HTML and re-import it as an HTML template in your ESP before syncing.

{% embed url="<https://www.loom.com/share/595e06229a7e4f53b47413dfebce975d>" %}

#### 2. Import to Content Templates

Select the source template and import it into the **Content Templates** list. This designates it as usable by Draft Experiments and Experiments.

{% embed url="<https://www.loom.com/share/e9e26fb7cb7b42f38dfc70bbde76108a>" %}

#### 3. Create the Content Schema

Set up a **Content Schema** that matches the dynamic fields in your template. The schema field names must correspond to the variable names you defined (e.g., `h1`, `body`, `block1_img`).

### Syncing Existing Templates

If you've updated a template that's already been imported, navigate to **Content Templates** and sync. This pulls the latest version from your ESP without needing to re-import from Source Templates.

### Next Steps

Your template is now ready to use in a \[Draft Experiment].
